Patrick Duffy (Principal) 

Patrick is a native of the Macarthur Region having been educated locally at Hurlstone. He completed Bachelor of Arts and Law degrees at Sydney University with Honours and was admitted to practice as a Solicitor and Barrister of the Supreme Court of NSW in 1995.

Having been employed as an associate and senior associate at Marsdens and Deacons (now Norton Rose Fulbright), Patrick also was Principal In-House Solicitor at Sutherland Council for three years. He founded Duffy Law Group in Sydney in 2000 before resettling in the Macarthur Region in 2003.

Patrick became an Accredited Specialist in Property Law through the Law Society Specialist Accreditation Scheme in 2001 and has maintained that accreditation continuously since then.

He has served on various Law Society and regional Law Society Committees, including the Government Solicitors Committee from 2000-2003, during which time he helped create, and was then selected to launch, the Government Solicitors Ethics Handbook.

Patrick has 20 years’ experience in commercial law, criminal law, litigation, family law, intellectual property, equity, insolvency and corporation law as well as his specialist activities in property and development practice.

Patrick regularly volunteers at the Macarthur Legal Centre together with assisted Campbelltown PCYC with the presentation of their Legal System Component in the Traffic Offenders Intervention Program (TOIP).

 

Sarah Kermode (Senior Associate) 

Sarah joined Duffy Law Group as a Solicitor in 2017. Having gained a Bachelor of Communication with a major in Journalism from Griffith University in 2010.  Sarah gained a Juris Doctor postgraduate Law Degree with Honours from the University of NSW in 2013.

Sarah was admitted as a Solicitor and Barrister in the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia in 2014. 

Before joining Duffy Law Group, Sarah worked for two other law firms practising primarily in family law.

Sarah became a Senior Associate of Duffy Law Group in 2019.

Sarah has volunteered with the Law Society of NSW as a judge at their mock trial and mock mediation competitions and at the Macarthur Legal Centre.

 

Kruz Cupitt (Solicitor) 

Kruz Cupitt commenced working for Duffy Law Group in January 2019.  Kruz graduated Western Sydney University with a double degree and was admitted as a solicitor in the New South Wales Supreme Court in February 2017.

Prior to his graduation Kruz had already worked in Law for 2 years.

Kruz practises in many areas of law including Family Law, Criminal Law, Civil Litigation and Wills, Powers of Attorney & Enduring Guardians.  

He volunteers at both the Campbelltown PCYC and the Speed Alcohol Vehicle Education Program (SAVE) with the presentation of their Legal System Component in the Traffic Offenders Intervention Program (TOIP).

 

Carlie Watson (Licenced Conveyancer) 

Carlie joined Duffy Law Group as a secretary in 2017 before taking over the conveyancing in 2018 once she obtained her Conveyancing Licence. 

Prior to joining Duffy Law Group, Carlie has worked for Conveyancing and Legal Practices throughout the Sydney and Macarthur regions.

 

Lachlan Jackson-Porter (Solicitor) 

Lachlan joined Duffy Law Group in August 2020 after graduating from the University of Wollongong (UOW) in July 2019 with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) majoring in Economics with Distinction.

Lachlan then completed his Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice (GDLP) at the College of Law in May 2020, and was admitted as a Solicitor in the New South Wales Supreme Court in November 2020.

Prior to joining Duffy Law Group Lachlan undertook several internships and placements at Macarthur Law Group, Melinda Griffiths Lawyers and Ramsden Lawyers and worked as a paralegal and as an internal disputes resolution officer for Gallagher Bassett in the area of Insurance Law.

Lachlan practices in the areas of Family Law Succession, Wills and Estate Planning, and Criminal Law.
